Donald Trump is motivating Latinos to get out and vote
A new survey found that 41% of Latino voters say they are motivated to vote in the 2016 election just to “stop Trump” and fight his anti-immigrant/Latino rhetoric. Trump’s rhetoric has fueled more than just racist hate: 48% of respondents said they were “more enthusiastic about voting in 2016” than they were in 2012. If you too hate Trump, the numbers get even better.
Univision’s clever way of fighting back against Trump
Donald Trump may have pissed off the wrong media conglomerate. Univision, the Spanish-language broadcast network the Republican presidential hopeful has repeatedly accused of answering to the Mexican government, has launched a new initiative to motivate Latino citizens. How they’ll harness the power of 3 million Latino Americans.
Trump calls for racial and religious profiling
On September 19 — hours before police arrested Ahmad Khan Rahami in connection to the bomb attack in NYC — Donald Trump went on Fox News to make the case for religious profiling.
“Our local police, they know who a lot of these people are,” Trump said, referring to suspected terrorists living in the United States. “They are afraid to do anything about it because they don’t want to be accused of profiling." The GOP presidential nominee then pointed to a controversial use of profiling abroad that he believes we should emulate.
Donald Trump would appoint Supreme Court justices to overturn marriage equality
In an appearance on Fox News on Sunday, Trump told anchor Chris Wallace that he would seek to undo marriage equality. In the interview, he stated, “I disagree with the Supreme Court in that it should be a states’ rights issue.” This is a remarkable 180 from what he said in just August of last year.
Last week, Donald Trump claimed 100 African-American religious leaders would endorse him for president. As it turned out, that wasn’t true. Pastor Vaughn (above) was on Trump’s list but denied his claim. Additionally, more than 100 black religious leaders and scholars published an open letter in Ebony with harsh words for Trump.
30 black students were kicked out of a Donald Trump rally for standing silently
According to the Des Moines Register, security said they were acting on Trump’s orders to remove the students, who were standing silently atop bleachers at the event. Trump’s campaign is denying the order. In video of their ejection, the students give a valid reason for their presence.
Caitlyn Jenner thinks Donald Trump will be great for trans people and women
“Trump seems to be very much for women. He seems very much behind the LGBT community." Those are the confusing and confused words of one Caitlyn Jenner who spoke of Donald Trump, during an interview with Stat published Wednesday. Maybe she’s talking about a different Donald Trump? Her full quote is even more tone deaf.
Latina Trump supporter faces backlash online and offline
Tucson resident Betty Rivas is facing major backlash for her actions at a Donald Trump rally. After Trump invited Rivas to the stage because she held a sign saying “Latinos Support D. Trump” in the air, Rivas’ restaurant, Sammy’s Mexican Grill, has faced harassment both online and off. But that’s not the whole story, the Bernie Sanders twist is where things really get interesting.
If you only listened to Donald Trump, you’d be dangerously misinformed about Muslim people. The 1.6 billion Muslims worldwide cannot be reduced to stereotypes. In addition to the 4 facts in the video, here are six more that reveal the truth.
